Gao Dianmin started his sports reporting career from 1978 and has covered seven Summer Olympic Games -- the first in Los Angeles in 1984 and the latest in Beijing in 2008, and many other sports big events like Asian Games and world championships. He was the director of Sports News Dept of Xinhua News Agency from 1997 to 2010 and now is the director of Xinhua London Bureau. He is a member of the International Olympic Committee press commission, a member of the International Athletics Federation press commission and member of the International Volleyball Federation, vice president of the Chinese Sports Press Federation. His reports on China's first Olympic gold medal at the 1984 Olympics won the national top press award and published books of Chinese Track and Field from 1921 to 1994, Wushu and others.He graduated from the Dalian Foreign Languages University and studied at the University of Hawaii from 1987 to 1988.
