Gabby Houseman

I fence competitively and represented GBR in matches in Hungary Italy and France. I am also Sport captain at my school.My fencing taught me taught me that getting to the top is not easy. I was made Sports Captain at my last year of my secondary school and really used this to my advantage. I came into school early to do pre-school sport practices in netball and hockey supporting and training the girls. I like to think I motivated the girls to push themselves not just in sport but in everything. My year ended with me organising a Sports Dinner for all girls (no matter of ability) that had represented the school in a sport. The night was a success and we even got a guest speaker Miriam Batten who won a silver medal in the 2000 Olympics in the rowing. I want to be an example for girls and boys out there that with hard work and dedication anyone can succeed.
