Francois Meston

Ever since his childhood, Francois has dreamed of carrying the Olympic Torch. He has always been involved in sport whether it be participating in football, skiing, tennis, athletics, cycling or badminton. Twenty years ago, Mark set up the first badminton club in the Tarn and Garonne. He has been a player, trainer, president of the club for 10 years and the president of the regional badminton committee for 11 years. He has also served two mandates with his county's Olympic and Sports Committee and represents his county at the Regional Olympic and Sports Committe. Mark is proud to have been selected as the 3rd official French umpire during the Athens Games and he has just been selected for the London 2012 Games. He is a strong supporter of the Olympic values and his job as a scientist requires daily respect for the environment
