Francesca Jones

Fran is studying French at Birmingham University. She is a very caring person. Her older sister has a severe learning disability. Fran cares for her sister when she is home from university. Her holiday job is as a carer at a residential centre for people with learning disabilities. She volunteers to support people with learning disabilities on Sunday afternoons. In Birmingham she mentors secondary school pupils whose families have never been to university. Fran is not an Olympic standard athlete but she has enjoyed participating in a wide range of sports - netball, canoeing, swimming, horse-riding. She is passionate about the Olympics but she missed out in the ballot for tickets and has not yet heard anything about her application to be an Olympic volunteer. Her older sister could not run with a torch but she would watch and understand and smile to see her sister as a torchbearer. Please make their dreams come true.
