Fergus Roberts is an exceptional young man who is a credit to his chosen sports, community and college. His finest sporting achievement came in February 2008 when he become one of an elite number of talented young athletes to win a national title at cross-country running. Fergus was crowned U-13 boys champion in the English National Championships at Alton Towers, Staffordshire. Fergus has also won the 1500m in the English Schools Championships, the 800m in the Yorkshire County Championships, the Northern Counties Cross-Country Championship and the North Yorkshire Schools Cross-Country Championships. Sixteen-year-old Fergus is also a talented cyclist and exceptional all-round sportsman who is a Sports Volunteer, helping others to enjoy a good sporting experience. Furthermore, he has also excelled in his studies at Northallerton College, where he was recently awarded the John Dennis Award, presented annually to a student who has most contributed to the character of the College. Fergus is also very modest and self-effacing.
