Erin Drinkald

In modern society it is sometimes too easy to overlook the normal young people who fortunately haven't battled adversity but are still a force for good in their local area.

I am nominating my daughter Erin as she really is a positive role model for other young people. Erin is 12 years old and is one of only 4 people from her year group who has successfully passed her 11 plus exam, she passed purely by hard work and dedication.

People constantly comment on her manners when we are out in public

At school Erin is a play leader she donates her playtimes to look after the reception children, playing games and supporting them in school life.

She is a member of the school council.Erin has real empathy for people less fortunate for herself and has carried out a number of events and other local fundraising activities to raise money for a group of children in Sierra Leone who she is sponsoring through schooling.

Erin is an active sports person and competes in the local squash clubs competitions and leagues, she has only been playing for 18 months but has already won 2 trophies. She is using her skills learnt as a play leader and regularly helps the adult coaches by supporting the younger/ beginner players.

Anyone who meets Erin comments on the light she brings with her, she is one of life's optimistic people.
