Ena's story lives each of the Olympic and Paralympic values. Born in Ireland, Ena came over to study at a University in England and it was here where I saw firsthand the value of 'Friendship'. Sadly, a year into her studies her parents went through a divorce and she took it upon herself to leave University and fly back home to be with her brother's; showing selfless 'Courage'. Four years later however, Ena's 'Determination' has helped her overcome several major obstacles in her path to graduate from University and fulfil her philanthropic nature of working with society as a Social Worker. Having worked with disabled children, elderly minorities, teenagers in care homes and foster families to name a few, Ena continues to deliver 'Respect' and 'Equality' bearing no prejudices on those who have come to rely on her. 'Excellence' portrays in all she does and in the feedback she receives for literally changing peoples' lives for the better. She has been an 'Inspiration' to everyone that I know, and carrying the Olympic Flame will be her time to shine.
