We, the parents of the eighty children attending Bledington Primary School in Gloucestershire, wish to nominate Emma Jenkinson (head of the school's infant department) to carry the Olympic Torch, because of her huge contribution to sport in both our school and the wider community. Her continued enthusiasm and selfless hard work, often after hours and at weekends, have instilled a love of sport, competition and sense of achievement into all our children, whether able or not, through winning certificates at gymnastics, competing vigorously at sports day, or gaining exposure to different sports - including ping pong, cross country, tennis, hockey, tag rugby, netball, football or cricket - in the extensive number of school clubs that she has established. In addition, with the cheerful help of the rest of the staff room, she has kept alive the tradition of morris and maypole dancing, something for which Bledington is renowned internationally.
