Emily's nomination story

Emily uses her love for running to contribute to the local community. Over the last 18 months she has raised over £4000 for the Lymphoma Association and Vision Charity through running the Paris and London marathons. She is heavily involved with the running community. As well as running for Clapham Chasers she volunteers to marshal races and take training sessions, inspiring others to take up running and sharing knowledge and enthusiasm of the sport with friends and colleagues. Emily makes a significant contribution to education through taking part in Pearson's Booktime volunteering scheme. She spends an hour a week with two six year olds at Charles Dickens School, helping improve their reading skills and confidence. Emily also runs the FT's CSR programme, liaising with charity partners to organise events, assist fundraising and promote awareness of their work across the FT and in the local community. CR
