Emily Brown

Emily is 15 & an inspiration, she has a lust for life & is a happy go lucky girl. At 6 wks old she was diagnosed with heart defect and underwent open heart surgery at the age of 8 mth & 3 yr. Em has always supported Heart Link Children's Charity with her parents since she was small.She takes part in sponsored events/helps at the Christmas party for 200 children, visits the ward on a Tues evening to hand out goodie bags/ Walter Bear to each child in hospital. Em has taken part in the Menphys Charity walk as her sister attended Menphys nursery. Em was awarded the Hamilton Charity Cup at High School twice for her commitment to local charities. She was nominated for the Diana Charity award in 2010, which she was awarded. She had always longed for a baby sister. At 7, her baby sister was born. When Molly was 4 wks old she developed a life threatening respiratory virus. Molly went to hospital on Christmas Day . Molly spent 9 wks in hospital, in PICU on a ventilator to keep her alive. This was an emotional time for Emily who longed for her sister to be home. Em visited Molly & made a tape playing her flute & reading stories so Molly could hear it when alone. Molly suffered a bleed to her brain. Molly is 7- is starting to walk alone Em is very proud of her sister & helps her achieve. Em helps Molly with Conductive Education practising exercises. Em's dance school raise money for Heart Link/ charity show.Em's dream would be to see 2012, this would be a dream come true :)
