Emily Barnes

Emily is a Volunteer Befriender for the Friends 4U Scheme. Emily has been a volunteer since July 2007. Emily has been matched with five different young people. The children that Emily has worked with have all had involvement from Cardiff Children's Services, in some form or another, in their lives. Emily takes the young person out for approx 3 hours each week doing various leisure activities. Emily has helped each young person develop their confidence and helped to improve their self esteem. Emily has become a positive adult role model in each of the young person's lives. Emily is reliable and committed and is always enthusiastic and positive about the young people. Emily is a non judgemental person and no matter what has gone on in the young person's life she will just take everything in her stride and help the young person to her best ability. Emily has made a positive impact on the young people lives. Emily is dedicated to the project and the young people and will push her personal life to one side to ensure that the young people have fun and nothing but fun and in her eyes the YOUNG PEOPLE COME FIRST!!! The parents of the young people Emily has worked with have been so positive and think that she has made a huge contribution to the young people's lives. Emily has completed well over 250 volunteering hours which is an excellent accomplishment. Emily is an amazing volunteer and has made a few young people's lives brighter thanks to her hard work.
