Emilio's nomination story

The spirit is the most wonderful thing about the Olympics.

During these days all cultures forget about their differences and compete in fairplay. They show how values such as honesty, team work, consistency, going beyond our limits are the stars of the event. These are emotions that surpass the TV screen or the stadium, reaching us and becoming an inspiration.

Perhaps because I've always been involved in sports, NGOs and cultural and environmental associations, I truly believe in the importance of working as a team to reach our goals, the team's goals.

Team work is essential. I've seen this in my work and in my personal life as well. I'm a guitar player in a pop/rock band and in a band that plays for children, both enjoying ourselves and smiling with them. When playing music each one has to do his part so all together can create a beautiful melody, the team goal. The same rule applies at home, with the family or with friends, or in the associations which I'm collaborating with.

This is one of the most important assets that you can have. Whenever possible, helping others, being part of an association or a group devoted to that mission, makes the most out of a collective effort.

Holding the torch is a dream for me, since it represents being a part of these great values that are the core of the Olympic Spirit. CR
