Liz is one of those people who has dedicated her life and soul into training and developing others. She joined wells lifesaving club in 1978 as a member and since then she has taught all ages especially the young the amazing ability to save lives. She gives up her own time every week to run Wells Lifesaving club which has members as young as 12. people can take lifesaving qualifications to use on land, in the swimming pool and in the open water. Liz has encouraged and trained people to be competitive Lifesavers and has had many members of the club making it to the National championships every year since 1989. Liz ensures all members are prepared and she is there competing along side. She is not only important to the club but is such a fundamental person to the county and also the region, organising competitions and events all over. I myself have been taught and mentored by Liz since i was 13 years old and she has always been there for me. Through my huge interest in lifesaving i have become a lifeguard trainer and have competed in the national championships 4 times. Many of her members/students have gone on to become lifeguards, young leaders and most importantly have learnt the critical life skills that could actually save a persons life. Liz selflessly gives her life to training anyone who wants to learn the skills that everyone should know. Liz is a nationally recognised treasure in lifesaving who is a huge inspiration not to just myself but to anyone who has met her.
