After losing her 8 month old daughter to mitochondrial disease Liz has started up a very successful charity helping others with the diseaseI hope to give hope to parents and families whose child has been diagnosed with a fatal disease Mitochondrial Disease for which there is no cure or no treatment. Doctors cannot tell these families how long they have left with their loved one - it is just a case of waiting. The Lily Foundation was set up in memory of my daughterLily to fund research to find a cure for this devastating disease. Our first project has been succesful. We have funded a gene testing programme which will help to diagnose the condition more effectively so that supportive treatments can be started to give the best quatlity of life for the sufferer. The Lily Foundation provides a support network for afftected families and gives families a charity to rasie money for.
