Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Pernilla Orhstedt was shortlisted as Emerging Woman Architect of the Year by Architects Journal in 2012. She was educated at Central St. Martin's, and the Bartlett School of Architecture and University College London. She went on to work in New York for Storefront for Art and Architecture where she was was co-originator with Director Joseph Grima of Storefront's first international exhibitions program, the Pop-up Storefront series (Los Angeles, Milan, London) whilst producing, designing and curating the gallery's programme and innovative architectural installations. In 2010 Pernilla was Director of the Canada Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Most recently, she formed a collaborative architecture partnership with Asif Khan and was selected to design the Coca-Cola Pavilion, dubbed "the Beatbox" for the London 2012 Olympic Games on the Olympic Park
