Elin's nomination story

I would like to nominate my older sister Elin Sian, to carry the Olympic Torch on its journey across North Wales. Elin is 15 years of age and is a pupil of Ysgol Y Creuddyn in Penrhyn Bay. Elin is an athlete and runs for Sale Harriers, Manchester. She trains six days a week. Her biggest dream and ambition is to be in the Olympics, she would love to follow the footsteps of her idol Jessica Ennis. She is a Welsh international athlete having represented Welsh Schools in two Celtic Cup matches in Cardiff winning two Gold medals. She has won the 60m and 200m Welsh indoor titles on two separate occasions, and has also won the Welsh title for the 100m and 200m at Welsh championships twice. She has 11 welsh titles all together. Elin started as a swimmer. She still swims with Llandudno Swimming Club. She has represented North Wales in the British County Championships. She now coaches the younger children at Llandudno. She takes her niece swimming on a Saturday helping her to gain confidence in the water. Elin loves our nain and always helps to look after her, she has Alzheimers. Even though Elin is fond of both sports she does prefer her athletics.
