Ellie's nomination story

Ellie has been helping people in Guildford in various projects as well as being involved with activities around the world. In 2001 & 2002 she helped with decorating Masindi school for the handicapped in Uganda. In 2003 Ellie worked on a Health Educational Project in Uganda and in 2006 - 2007 was part of teacher training on HIV/AIDS in China. In 2007 she returned home and has since been helping the Guildford community. She volunteered at the Barn Youth Project, Youth: Café, an organisation which aims to enable local young people to fulfil their potential. At the end of 2007 through to the summer in 2009 she managed the project which included organising sporting activities for youngsters to participate, such as football, ice-skating, swimming. Ellie is currently training to be a doctor and hopes these new skills will allow her to work and help people anywhere in the world.
