Eddie's nomination story

My father Edwin (Eddie) Johnson has been involved in the Scout Association for nearly all his life - for almost 60 years. Since 1960 he has been a Scout Leader in Warrington, was District Commissioner for Warrington for 14 years and County Commissioner for Cheshire for 8 years. He manages the Warrington Scout Shop which he set up and has run for 40 years raising up to £15,000 per year for Scouting. He retired as County Commissioner 2 years ago but is still very involved in the Scout Association. Scouting is his passion and something he loves. He has dedicated his life to it and the thousands of young people within his County. My father turns 70 next year and desperately wanted to go to the Olympic Games to celebrate his birthday - sadly he was unsuccessful in most of his ticket applications only securing one swimming event. I hope you will consider this application. Thanks
