Carrying the Flame on
Duncan's nomination story

Duncan ran five international marathons in 2009 to raise money for cancer charities, Christies and McMillan. Dunk kept fans and supporters up to date with his progress via his running blog which attracted over 2,000 followers across the globe, helping him raise around £15,000 for the charities. Dunk continues to run and blog, inspiring many others to follow his lead and continuing to raise awareness of not only his cause, but those of his fellow runners. Dunk consistently goes the extra mile (or 26.2 miles!) by supporting the friends who have followed in his footsteps, from giving them guidance on training plans, nutrition and fitness to help them to achieve their goals, to running alongside first-time marathon runners for moral support. Duncan`s story has been an inspiration to many people, worldwide, and he would be honoured to carry the Olympic Flame in recognition of his efforts.
