Rene Sweet

Rene is a coach at our local bowling club at Lostwithiel in Cornwall. She has for many years worked tirelessly to encourage new members, young and old, to play and more importantly to enjoy the game of outdoor bowling. She has helped other clubs from all over Cornwall by coaching their newcomers and those wishing to improve their game. Sometimes she will travel many miles and spend hours with new bowlers and children to encourage them to play. She seldom receives any remuneration except travel expenses, and if on occasions a donation is offered, she gives it back to our club. Rene, having won singles finals in our Cornwall region, has progressed to the all England stage at Leamington. Her skill, sunny personality and constant encouragement to all those lucky to be coached by her makes her a very worthy person to be a torch bearer next year.
