Dot has been doing yoga for 31 years, not starting until her mid fifties. As a founder member of the Mark Village W.I. she had her first taste of yoga through an introductory session and has never looked back. Dot has been a regular and much cherished member of the yoga group through its many incarnations come rain or shine. She always inspires the many yoga students she comes into contact with many of whom are half or less than half her age. For the last decade or so she has also been an inspirational member of the local Tai Chi group. For many years she ran the local art group, organised a twelve member village reading group ( for thirty years), annually organises the decorated hoop competition at Mark Harvest Home ( fifteen years), regularly helps with collating church magazine and its delivery and as part of the congregation of Mark Holy Cross Church is still a choir member and for may years cleaned the church hall. To this day she still helps with some cleaning duties within the church. Dot actively supports the Mark Community Association/Wedmore with their French twinning and also bakes cakes and organises the Street Fair Cafe at Wedmore. Dot is a stalwart of the Highbridge Arts Festival which is held annually. If you are looking for an inspirational character, who still has her role at the heart of the community, and would be an incredible role model for octogenarians and the wider community, then look no further than Dot Reaney!
