Anita's nomination story

This inspirational lady has for the past 40 years has done what the very spirit of the Olympic Games encompasses; she simply 'inspires ordinary people to do extra ordinary things'. Anita will always be a dazzling light in our local community; she lives and breathes Gymnastics giving the opportunity to be part of this fantastic sport from general through to competing at national level. In a town that has limited opportunity she provides a focus for children and encourages them to be the best that they can. On a personal level the club gave me an invaluable and positive experience which I have carried forward into my adult life. Anita provided me with the opportunity to excel in a sport, to be part of a community and to continue within the sport as a coach and judge. I firmly believe that Anita's infectious love for Gymnastics and her dedication to it shines into all aspects of life showing children from a young age how to be dedicated and strive to do their best in all areas of their lives. She is truly incredible, a credit to the sport of gymnastics, who has worked tirelessly with hundreds of children and I am privileged to know her and be part of a fantastic club. Antia has informed me that she has run the club for 35 years not 40
