Des Hassan

Des Hassan should carry the London 2012 Olympic Flame as he embodies much of the ethos of London 2012 Olympic Games. Having been awarded the Queen's Badge in 1971, Des has helped to inspire hundreds of young people through over 40 years of work with the Boys Brigade, including current London 2012 rowing medal hopeful Alan Campbell. The last 13 years has seen Des involved in the high profile Milk Cup international youth soccer tournament. This competition has provided part of the learning experience for many of the top international soccer professionals we see on our television screens today. Rubbing shoulders with the Beckhams and Messis of the future allows our local young people to see the unlimited potential that they have. When not inspiring the leaders of tomorrow, Des has spent the last 21 years as a keen competitor at Coleraine Bowling Club, and significantly I can think of no better ambassador for the BMW brand as he has 20 years' service selling BMWs at JKC Specialist Cars.
