Derek Redwood

Derek Redwood was originally the accountant for Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales and decided in 1998 he wanted to do more to support the charity. Derek, along with a core group of five friends, formed 'Friends of Bobath Wales' and over the last 12 years they have organised numerous fundraising events including Gentleman's dinners, Musical Nights, Corporate Kidnaps, Race Nights, Sponsored Walks as well as Celebrity Football Matches. To date Derek has raised over £200,000 to help fund children who have cerebral palsy in Wales to receive life-changing specialist Bobath therapy. Derek is an inspiration to all fundraisers. His enthusiasm for the charity is contagious and ensures that the group goes from strength to strength under his leadership, continuing to raise funds and awareness. Derek was recently chosen as Winner of Member in Practice for the ICAEW Everybody Counts Award 2011.
