Derek Fraser

Derek is an experienced, enthusiastic and talented runner who's been running 30 years and still going strong. He completed his first marathon in London in 1982 and has completed 24 marathons since, with a PB of 2.48. He has completed 136 half-marathons, 35 10K,s and 60 other distance races. In addition to his own running he is very generous with his time and knowledge and has encouraged myself and many others to get fit with positive results. He happily prepares training plans and gives advise and supports with training runs with less able runners and team relays. He does this for people at all levels and it is done quietly, without a fuss and with no recompense for himself . He turns age 50 this years and has recently been accepted as a member of the prestigious Scottish Veteran Harriers Club. An athlete who demonstrates the true Olympic spirit.
