David is my 14 year old son who comes from a seperated family which at first affected his confidence and he did not achieve well at his Primary School. HIs Primary School was a small village school and David began to have the impression that he was thick and stupid. At this time David was overwieght and had no belief in him self, this was made worse by him being diagnosed with ADHD and also the fact he has 60% hearing loss in his left ear. Since he has reached his secodary schoolschool he has strived to prove himself to himself, and his peers which he has achieved ,sometime in a mischeavious way. David's secondary school recognised that he was an intelliegent young man and David was moved from the low sets that his Primary School has advised to some of the top sets. David through secondary school has been nominated for competing at Junior Level Pentathalon for the county . David comes from a insular, small, rural village which is not outward looking. David has recently began to realise that there is a life outside of Lincolnshire and a wealth of opportunities. When originally discussing the torch bearing David did not wish to be nominated but has since come back and requested to be nominated. I feel if David was given the chance to shine it would help him to have positive belief in himself and would give a good image out to his peers, to his family and friends and show that a teenager from a small village can be part of the global world and achievements can be made.'Junior Level District Atheltics' not 'Junior Level Pentathalon'
