I feel extremely proud and honoured to be nominated by my company to be a torch bearer. The London 2012 Olympics is the largest global sporting event, and it's on our doorstep, this in itself is a magnificent achievement but being a torch bearer, for me, represents ordinary people being able to participate in this once in a lifetime event. Sports and sports charities plays a significant part in my life and I feel extremely privilege to be representing the ordinary every day person in an area that I have particular passion for. Recently I participated in a charity fund raising 100 mile cycle ride on behalf of Help for Heroes. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience but the ultimate achievement was finally handing over the funds raised. 2012 will witness again an extremely competitive Para Olympic field of athletes and hopefully funds raised by charitable causes will provide significant investment to support our athletes in achieving greatness in their chosen events.
