David Macpherson

Shortly after my diagnosis of testicular cancer last year I ran the half-marathon in Glasgow. In the past year I have undertaken many sports-based activities to raise awareness and funds for the Friends of the Beatson charity. I am also a keen shinty player and am passionate about the continuation of the sport in Scotland. I am able to transfer the skills I have learned as an athlete into other areas of my life. I would like to inspire other young people to take up a sport as shinty and running have had such positives effects on my physical mental and emotional health. My dream is to inspire others and show that everyone regardless of age ability or health can achieve their goals if they put their mind to it.David uses his sports of shinty and road running to raise much needed funds for the Friends of the Beatson a cancer charity .
