Dave Hamilton

Dave has dedicated his life to community work. He is very upbeat and cheerful, turns around negativity at meetings into positivity. He passionately believes that people can change their own lives and neighbourhoods and demonstrates this by working alongside them in cleaning up the dirtiest areas on what he describes as 'Envirocleans'. He shows empathy towards rowdy and difficult teenagers, drug addicts and prostitutes, engaging them and explaining to them and often turns round their anti-social attitude leading them to become responsible members of society. Dave organises sports matches and other activities for kids growing up in difficult circumstances. He is ready to work weekends, late evenings or early mornings if he believes that will help 'his' neighbourhoods. He goes above and beyond his work spec and is a truly inspirational role model for the residents of our town. A modest, self-effacing man, Dave is one of the 'Good Guys' who wouldn't expect recognition but is totally deserving of it. He represents all that is good in Bournemouth and would be a perfect Torch Bearer for the Olympic Torch..
