Dave Courtney

Dave Courtney was diagnosed with Prostate cancer some 11 years ago. Since that time he has raised well over £300,000 and helped bring a Brachiatherapy prostate cancer treatment centre to Cheltenham hospital. Dave now has bone cancer but still remains helpful to others and dedicated to his family. Dave, born in the 40's saved money from his band days in 'Mike and the Mystics' to start a chain of 5 (proper) sports shops. He then went on to establish a cricket mail order business and also became Chairman of his beloved Cheltenham Town Football Club. I know that Dave would be monumentally 'chuffed to peanuts' to have the honour of carrying the Olympic torch.
