Carrying the Flame through | |
Carrying the Flame on | |

Dave was a porter on our local train station when he was struck down by illness which left him in a wheelchair. He then turned to helping charities, he has devoted himself to raising money and competing in marathons and all kinds of charity work. He has raised thousands of pounds for atheletes etc. He is certainly worthy of carrying the flame for our town and I am so proud to nominate him. I admire the way he accepted having to spend time in a wheelchair for so many years, yet is always thinking of ways he can help others. He has been doing this for many years now, yet he has had another blow blow recently, he has prostate cancer, yet even this has not stopped him. I would be delighted for him to have this honour. He has got plans for another big competition in the near future.
