David's nomination story

My Dad is a somewhat undervalued pillar in his village. He runs the village's institute, fund raises and arranges activities for the village. He ran the village's Feast celebrations including a local sports day for many years. He is the verger at the church and helps with chuchyard working parties. He was involved in the project to add a bell and restore the original set to the church and provided most of the manual labour to keep the costs down. He was the chairman of the millennium celebrations committee and the horticultural society. When he was a PE teacher he used to coach a number of sports including basketball, athletics and gymnastics and inspired some pupils to achieve International Schools' honours with some becoming professional sportsmen. Now retired, my dad always will try to help, giving 100% to everything he does. He is a keen follower of the Olympics and all sports.
