David's nomination story

David has a passion for helping others. Nothing is too much trouble for him. . . When he retired, he became a volunteer at the Citizens Advice Bureau, and has helped so many people less fortunate than him. In 2009, he raised over £1,000 for charity by cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats, an amazing feat. He has been Treasurer of the Winscombe Community Association, and is a regular volunteer in the local area ~ whether that's clearing brambles from the footpaths and bridleways, or popping in to help the elderly neighbour next door.. . He is a devoted husband and father, who has always put the family before himself. He is 'always there', through good times and bad.. . He is much loved and respected by all that know him, and he fully deserves the honour of carrying the Olympic Flame.. . David is our Dad !. Paul, Stuart and Fran.
