David Allen

(JCB Ltd) Dave Allen has been a keen athlete throughout his life. He has been a member of a local athletic club for the last 26 years, helping to organise local races as well as competing in team events. He represented Staffordshire for 5 consecutive years at cross country, and was Staffordshire cross country club team champion 9 times. He is also a 2010 British Masters club team cross country silver medallist. Dave has participated in the JCB 5 mile 'fun run' for the last 23 years and has been the first JCB employee past the finishing line 16 times. He has run the London marathon, the official '3 peaks' race in a JCB team and successfully completed a London to Paris cycle ride with his JCB colleagues. Through these events he has raised a substantial amount for charity. Whilst he has been a successful athlete himself he has helped others into the sport by organising JCB after-work 'learn to run' group, passing on his experience and encouragement to total beginners, which has become very popular and successful. Dave is an excellent ambassador for the company. He has worked for JCB for 23 years without a single day's sickness, an has represented us both in the UK and overseas.
