Hope I am not too late -I AM NOMINATING MYSELF !!!! I have been a runner since 1976 and since 1978 have finished around 1,250 events ranging from 800 metres on the track up to 40 miles on the road plus many shorter track races .During that period ,I have also raised hundreds of pounds for various local and national charities in events such as the London Marathon(10 times finished ),Great North Run and other events including the Tesco Cancer Research 10kms runs I have also coached many runners over the years from beginner up to marathon runners .I am at the moment starting up a Ladies Beginners Running Group here in Wombwell ,Barnsley .I have served on various athletic club commitees and helped organise events.I like to think I have put something back into this sport I love - it would be a honour to carry the Olympic flame
