Daphne's nomination story

She epitomises the community. She has influenced hundreds of girls through leading Girls' Brigade for over 20 years & in her Church life.As a mother of 3 I have always been involved with the local community as a playgroup leader Girls' Brigade leader and working as a teaching assistant in my local school. The joy of seeing children develop their skills from being shy and lacking in self-confidence to mature and self-assured young people cannot be topped. My dream for the future is that our world become a more peaceful. A world in which young people are encouraged to be part of a wider community than where they live. That we as adults be encouraging and allowing kids to persue their own passions. Which will result in a better world for them in the future. I so want a peaceful world and one in which all people are valued and equal.
