Daniel's nomination story

My son, James Neal, sadly passed away last year due to Leukaemia. Daniel was a friend of James and was part of the same cricket side. Last year Daniel undertook (off his own back) to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research, by organising a weeks fundraising at the school with the whole school involved in different activities i.e. sponge the teacher, music gigs, cake sales etc etc. And they raised circa £2,500. This year he went one step bigger and did similar events around the area and created a website called leukamiaand lymphomasummer. The total raised this year was £9,000. He also acheived great results in his GCSE's. In recognition of his :friendship to James, self determination, organisational skills and ledership, i believe he is more than worthy of carrying the olympic torch. He has rallied James' friends and school into doing something worthwhile to help them make sense of their loss. He has also been a great support to me and my family. visit the website www.leukaemiaand lymphomasummer or join the facebook page. Thanks for reading this, I hope you can see your way to recognise this young mans fantastic acheivements.
