Daniel's nomination story

Daniel has been working as a volunteer radio DJ within the local area for 3 years, with regular shows on Seahaven FM & on Hospital radio at the Eastbourne DGH. In recent months, Daniel Won the 'Courageous Young person of the Year Award', Organised by the Eastbourne Herald, for his efforts in rescuing a family for from a Road traffic accident. In a wet and cold winters evening, daniel was the sole witness to a family car crashing and rolling off of a hillside road. Daniel put his lifeguard training into play to assess the injuries of those within whilst informing the Emergency services. With the car on its roof, Daniel had to assess the breathing of the Unconscious mother, while the calming the two children in the rear. Paramedics attending the scene complimented Daniels quick thinking and first aid abilities and news of his heroics quickly spread through local media. Daniel is a highly motivated, determined and sensible individual, with clear ambitions to obtain a career as a radio broadcaster. Working a number of paid jobs in addition to his numerous voluntary radio shows, Daniel balances his professional commitments with time with family and friends. Daniel represents a true member of the community. His happy personality, sense of humor and charisma bring not only smiles to his friends, family and listeners, but a strong sense of appreciation for his company and character.Carrying the London 2012 Torch would only strengthen Daniels commitment to the community.
