Craig works as a volunteer group facilitator at the Terence Higgins Trust, a charity supporting those affected by HIV.
Every week, despite his job at BP, Craig spends one evening running a THT group. Groups can be for those recently diagnosed HIV positive, or their partners and family, to offer support and advice in a confidential environment with the aim of helping them move forward with their lives.
Groups can be very challenging; members can be upset, angry, scared and sometimes quite ill. This is demanding and emotionally draining for Craig, as well as rewarding. But every week off he goes with a smile on his face, making a real difference to people's lives.
I believe that Craig's work with THT is not only of great benefit to that organisation and its clients, but also to BP.
BP is very grateful to Craig, and proud of him. It is great to recognise him as an Olympic torchbearer. CR
