Outside school Cory is a keen walker, completing the 100 mile Nijmegen walk in Holland and the 50 mile Gareloch Head walk in Scotland, raising £1000 for charity. He has also achieved two gold medals and one silver for competing at the Mary Peter's track in Athletics and Javelin events. He has also completed First Aid Training with the RAF Air Training Corps. He uses his time constructively and also has a part-time job in a local supermarket, helping his confidence and communication skills. Cory is also an active member of the school community: whether in his role as a Hall Monitor, supervising younger pupils; as a volunteer on Open Days and Parents' Evenings; or helping junior pupils at the after-school Maths clinic. He has also collected for charities such as the 'Spirit of Paul McGirr' Shoebox Appeal, St. Vincent De Paul and Epileptic Concern and he would delighted to carry the Olympic torch.
