Cormac Gillen

Cormac is loving, kind, thoughtful and gives 100% to everything he does. He always thinks of others and puts others before himself. He has a great positive attitude to life and believes that you can achieve anything you set out to do. He says that hard work and determination will get you there. He excels in many sports , plays the clarinet and piano. Cormac plays for a local Gaelic team and he gives his all to his performance. He competes in swimming in local, regional and national events. He represented Ulster in swimming and has won 6 silver medals in All Ireland swimming competitions in solo and team events. He gets up three mornings per week at 5.30 am to train for swimming from 6.00-8.00am before school. He attends land training and swimming sessions after school and always enjoys each and gives his best. You never see or hear him complain.After these sessions, he may be playing a team game or another activity. For a teenager it is inspirational to see such a great attitude and a dedication to do the best he can with the gifts he has and to use his gifts to help others and the area he belongs to. Cormac always thinks the best of each situation and person. He takes advice sincerely and uses it constructively. He believes that you get out of life what you put in and believes that you can achieve anthing you set out to do.
