Lloyds TSB, proud Presenting Partner of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, has selected pupils from Minehead School to be Olympic Torchbearers as part of the Flame Followers programme. . . Minehead School have used the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to raise awareness of the Olympic values. Their children very rarely have the opportunity to take part in national events of such importance (Minehead, whilst being situated in an area of outstanding beauty, is very much `out on a limb` and is seldom included in any major events). The children we have nominated to run with the torch display the key Olympic Values of respect, excellence and friendship in their day to day life, both in the classroom environment and the sporting environment. The Olympic Games has give the school new and exciting ways to engage pupils from all backgrounds, taking part in activities they are not familiar with.
