Colin Godfrey

Colin's involvement with Basingstoke Bluefins, formerly Basingstoke Swimming Club began in 1987 when his daughter took part in the first Cystic Fibrosis Sponsored Swim. Since then Colin has taken on many roles, attended various committees and is currently the longstanding Vice Chairman of the Local Voluntary Sports Council. Colin has officiated at various swimming galas for able-bodied and disabled up to county level. He organizes pool hire, liaising with the local swimming pools and arranges coach hire for away galas. From 2000 - 2008 Colin was Volunteer Masters Squad Coach and has spent numerous hours fundraising for the club and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, in 2009 raising over £10,000. Colin has also been Vice Chairman of Basingstoke Local Sports Council for over 10 years and is a very well known and respected member of the Basingstoke & Deane Sporting Community.
