Colin's nomination story

Dad was awarded a special Community service award for what he did and still does for charity. He has raised over £250.000 in the last 35 years through running in, organising runs, writing numerous articles and being a Toastmaster and Public speaker. Dad is nearly 70 and has run for over 60 years (still does). He has been a Dorset champion many times, a South West Counties and British Police champion several times. He currently supports the Youth Cancer Trust at Bournemouth. He was in the Dorset Police for 37 years, mostly at Bournemouth retiring as Chief Inspector/Deputy Commander in 1994. He has two bravery awards when facing gunmen. I am very proud of my dad. (1st line) ..Dad was awarded a special East Dorset Community service award for what he did.. (My daughter wanted me to add) after.... I am very proud of my dad,..who is also a Personal assistant to a disabled man.
