Clive's nomination story

Clive Stone MBE, a resident of Eynsham, West Oxfordshire, has been a tireless campaigner for the provision of drugs for kidney and other forms of cancer. Clive has suffered from terminal renal cancer since 2007, working through operations and ongoing treatment. He has been unswerving in his commitment to cancer-sufferers, devoting himself to volunteering with charities locally and across the country. This contribution was recognised when he was awarded an MBE in 2011.

He is the founder of the 'Justice for Kidney Cancer Patients', a group campaigning for improvements in cancer treatment options for patients. He is also the Chairman of the Friends of Renal Oncology Group and an active member of the local Oxfordshire Cancer Service Patient & Carer Support Panel.

Clive's contribution to the field of access to cancer treatments has been invaluable and his campaigning helped lead to the creation of the Cancer Drugs Fund.
