On her very first day of starting her degree, Clare's mum was diagnosed with cancer. Realising that in life you never know what is around the corner, she decided to make everyday count and went on to complete her degree, run the race for life, keep fit, learn to play the drums, and compete at British Horse Society level. Clare's best friend has also recently been diagnosed with cancer and she has supported her through her chemo treatment. She has been supporting her friend in numerous ways, including walking and exercising her dog and horse and bringing cheer and laughter to her friend when life is a little difficult. Clare also helped to organise a local sponsored hair cut to raise funds for Cancer Research. She has taken a few knocks but has always got up and carried on with a smile. BP is proud to nominate Clare to be a torchbearer as part of the BP young relative programme.
