Clare's nomination story

Clare is an amazing mother, caring successful business woman, a talented web-designer and works tirelessly for charities. But what is remarkable is that she has achieved all this since being diagnosed in 1996 with the rare, terminal lung condition, LAM, for which she received a transplant in 2008. At every stage of her disease, despite deteriorating health, she contributed significantly to the work of the patient support and research charity, LAM Action. She chaired it for 2 years, set up and maintains its website and produces its newsletter. Her dedication extended to publishing one newsletter the day before her transplant and being back to produce the next edition 3 months later! She also promotes organ donation at every opportunity. She gets involved in her children's activities too, currently as a school governor & on the PTA. Clare's enthusiasm for her second chance at life is infectious, and she inspires all who meet her. Clare deserves this because her passion for life and positivity is truly inspirational.
