The Echoes Foundation is a registered charity (No 1133494). It was set up by my wife Claire Stockton in 2008, Claire set the charity up with the aim of one day being opening a dedicated therapy centre for families with disabled children. Through our own experience of having a severly disabled son (Finley) we found there to be great difficulties in obtaining support, emotionally and therapy wise for our son. My wife has opened a centre for disabled children and their families providing a sensory room, alternative therapy room, parental support room and music therapy room, plus Echoes offers many other services such as a mobile sensory equipment loan project and they are currently fundraising for a caravan. Echoes has also recently funded a sensory room on the local childrens ward at Hull Royal Infirmary. The Echoes Foundation continues to grow at an amazing rate and supports over 150 familes. I am very proud of what Claire has achieved. Claire also still works at a local hospital 20 hours per week as everything she does for The Echoes Foundation is voluntary. Claire is truely inspirational to everyone who knows her and has recently won Woman of Achievement for 2010 and is in the final of Yorkshire Woman of Achievement on the 20th May 2011 (tomorrow), she is completely selfless and does so much for other families as well as caring for our severley disabled five year old son Finley. If anyone derserves to carry the Olympic torch for Hull my wife does.
