Claire's nomination story

Claire mentors and assists supervising at our local dancing school which has been held at a local community centre for the last 8 years. This has been a big part of the community life and Claire's passion for assisting is evident when you talk to her. She sees this as giving something back into the community and loves playing any active part in the day to day practice sessions and organising charity events. Claire's ongoing commitment to this Dance School is shown by how long she has been a part of it.

Our dance school has a great spirit and the children all look forward to attending. The age range is from 2 to 18 years old and in total there are 180 regular students who attend the school. The confidence and enjoyment they all get from performing on the stage is fantastic to see. Claire was included in the recognition from parents, guardians and sponsors. She received many thank you's and after the show finished. All the audience Claire spoke to said how fantastic and well choreographed it was. The majority of students and family do not understand or appreciate how long it takes to plan and put on a performance. The show raised £1000 for Martin House Hospice. This is a local children's hospice which also plays a vital part in the local community.
