Ciaran's nomination story

Ciaran has an enthusiastic and positive outlook on life. He has always been keen on sport and joined a swimming club at an early age, represented his school, Westhill Academy, in cross country running, is a good golfer and just last year took up Rugby. He has represented his school in the U16 Rugby League Scottish schools final, and also plays Union for Aberdeen Wanderer's. Ciaran's enthusiasm has ensured he is always willing to attend training, and he has always shown great respect for his coaches and teachers. He has also volunteered through his school to teach Rugby to Primary school children in Westhill. At home he has provided invaluable support for his family in helping to care for his younger brother Niall, who has Downs Syndrome. Throughout Niall's life, Ciaran has been there for him, to play with him, be a friend for him and anticipate his needs. As part of the BP employee young relative programme, BP is proud to nominate Ciaran to be an Olympic torchbearer.
